Who we are

Ultimate Video Enhancer ("UVE") is published under the Systemaweb product brand. Customer support and billing correspondence for UVE are handled at support@systemaweb.com. This policy describes how the UVE browser extension and the website at systemaweb.com process information.

By installing UVE or using systemaweb.com, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, do not use the extension or the site.

Summary

  • Core playback features run locally in your browser.
  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • The extension does not include advertising SDKs. Optional anonymous extension analytics are off until you opt in.
  • Some optional features send limited data only when you use them (license, subtitles, dislike counts, analytics if enabled).
  • The website uses PostHog EU for anonymous product analytics (explicit events only). This is separate from extension analytics.
  • Purchases are processed by Stripe.

Extension — local storage

Speed, volume, templates, theme, optional OpenSubtitles API key, and license status are saved in browser extension storage on your device. Local subtitle files (.vtt / .srt) are processed in the current browser session and are not uploaded to Systemaweb servers by default.

UVE requests access to websites so it can enhance HTML5 media on the page you are watching. That permission is used for playback control (speed, volume, captions). It is not used to build or sell a browsing history profile.

Optional network requests (extension)

  • License validation — when you activate Pro, your license key is sent to systemaweb.com to confirm status. The response may include an email associated with the purchase; that email may be stored locally in the extension for display.
  • OpenSubtitles — when you use Pro subtitle search, UVE sends the video title shown on the page and your OpenSubtitles API key to OpenSubtitles so matching files can be returned.
  • Return YouTube Dislike — if you enable the optional dislike feature, the YouTube video ID is sent to the Return YouTube Dislike API.
  • Caption fetch — when applying certain caption sources, the extension may fetch caption file bytes from the media host (or via the extension background script) to display them in UVE.

Extension analytics (optional)

UVE extension analytics are optional anonymous product analytics used only to operate, maintain, measure, and improve UVE's disclosed video-control functionality (speed, volume, captions, and per-site memory). They are disabled until you opt in in the extension. This is not marketing analytics, advertising analytics, audience profiling, behavioral tracking, or monetization tracking. Core playback features, Pro features, and license activation work fully without analytics consent. You can change this later in UVE Settings → Privacy, or by choosing No thanks on the first-run notice. We do not send your consent decision to analytics.

After you allow analytics, the extension sends only allowlisted events to the UVE API at https://systemaweb.com/api/analytics/event. The API validates and minimizes the payload, applies rate limits, and forwards approved events to PostHog (EU Cloud). The PostHog project token stays on the server; it is not shipped in the extension. Analytics can also be disabled operationally on the server without a new store release.

After consent, UVE creates a random anonymous installation identifier on your device. It is used only to count analytics events and is not your name, email, or license. Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures also inform users before install. Existing users receive a prominent in-product notice before any new analytics collection after this data-practice change.

Event categories, when you have opted in:

  • installation or update of the extension
  • anonymous extension sessions
  • feature categories used (for example speed, volume boost, subtitles)
  • license activation success or failure (reason buckets only)

Speed and volume, when collected, are coarse buckets only (for example 1_5_2× or 100_150), not exact playback values.

Extension analytics do not collect:

  • websites visited, URLs, or domains
  • browsing history, page titles, or video titles
  • page or video contents, subtitle contents, or search queries
  • names, email addresses, or form contents
  • license keys, Stripe or customer IDs, or checkout/session IDs
  • session recordings
  • exact playback speed or volume values

Extension analytics events are processed through the UVE API and PostHog EU. An anonymous or pseudonymous technical identifier may be processed after you opt in. We do not currently publish a separate fixed retention period for these events.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Website analytics (PostHog EU)

The marketing website at systemaweb.com uses PostHog (EU Cloud) for anonymous product analytics. We collect only explicit product-usage events — for example selected landing-page views, install-button clicks, store clicks, pricing-section views, and Pro checkout clicks. This analytics setup is not used to record which videos you watch in the extension, and it is not advertising or remarketing.

PostHog may process anonymous or pseudonymous technical identifiers (such as a random distinct ID and a session ID) so events can be counted. We do not identify visitors by name or email, we do not create person profiles for anonymous users, and this analytics setup does not collect email addresses, names, form contents, browsing history, license keys, checkout or payment session IDs, or session recordings. Query parameters are stripped from captured page URLs. Analytics event data is processed in PostHog’s EU environment.

We do not use advertising cookies for this. Hosting and server logs may still record ordinary request metadata independently of PostHog.

If you join a waitlist, we process the email address you submit only to notify you about related product availability, unless a different purpose is stated on the form.

Student pricing may require a school or university email so we can verify eligibility. That email is used for verification and checkout association, not for unrelated marketing lists.

Purchases (Stripe)

UVE Pro is sold as an optional upgrade on systemaweb.com. Payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives the payment details and billing information needed to complete the purchase. After payment, we generate a license key, may email it to the address used at checkout, and store license metadata needed to validate activation and handle support or refunds.

Retention & requests

Purchase and license records are kept as long as needed to provide the product, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and handle refunds or support. See also our refund policy. Website product analytics events are retained according to our PostHog EU project settings.

To ask about waitlist removal, license email resend, or purchase-related questions, contact support@systemaweb.com. We may need enough information to verify the request (for example the purchase email).

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to a small software product (HTTPS, server-side secrets for license signing, payment processing via Stripe). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

UVE is not directed at children under 16. Do not submit personal information for children through our forms.

International use

The service may be accessed from different countries. Website product analytics events are processed in PostHog’s EU Cloud. Other information may be processed in the EU/EEA or other regions where our providers (for example Stripe, hosting, email delivery) operate.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Limitation of claims

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UVE and related sites are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business interruption arising from use of the extension or website. Mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence are not affected where they cannot be waived.
